Ski by Moonlight

20x20” $220

Painting a winter scene is quite fun. Even though we think of snow as white, I save my white paint for little bits of highlight closest to the light source. The rest of the snow is made up of combinations of blue, purple and grey. My favourite part of this painting is the yellow bits of snow catching the light of the moon.

Check out my winter cards. They all portray snow scenes from Larch Hills near Salmon Arm, BC. Thanks to my friend Christina who takes great winter pictures while out skiing. I tend to spend more time inside painting where it is warm - instead of outside getting exercise skiing!
